Background
In 1998 I made my first tiara, for my own wedding. A number of years later a friend who had been a guest at our wedding and knew I was creative, approached me to make a fascinator for her to wear to another friend’s wedding. By the day of that wedding, not only had I made her fascinator, but also the headdresses for the bride and two bridesmaids. Word quickly spread and I was being approached increasingly frequently by friends, colleagues, friends of friends, and even local businesses. Everything was pointing me towards turning a creative passion into a business, thus "by Harriet" was officially established, and I am proud to say continues to go from strength to strength.
